2007 est un mill\u00e9sime fantastique en Californie. Certains disent m\u00eame que c’est le meilleur jamais produit, particuli\u00e8rement pour le Pinot Noir et le Cabernet Sauvignon. Les conditions climatiques furent parfaites.<\/p>\n

Et c’est pourquoi j’attendais beaucoup de ce vin.<\/p>\n

Et pour changer, ce\u00a0Lost Canyon Stage Gulch Syrah 2007<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0n’a pas pleinement satisfait mes attentes.<\/p>\n

Les ar\u00f4mes sont sur le versant fruits noirs avec une note d’olive et de caramel. Tr\u00e8s intense mais avec un manque flagrant de complexit\u00e9 et d’\u00e9l\u00e9gance. Le vin sent la chaleur, la confiture et l’alcool est nettement pr\u00e9sent. Un bon et un mauvais d\u00e9part en m\u00eame temps car si le nez passe encore, la surmaturit\u00e9 en bouche est souvent fatale. Et c’est bien le cas ici. Le manque de complexit\u00e9 est dramatique. C’est affreusement, d\u00e9sesp\u00e9r\u00e9ment simple et court. Confitur\u00e9, cuit, caram\u00e9lis\u00e9. La surmaturit\u00e9 dans toute sa splendeur et avec toute la panoplie de ses d\u00e9fauts.<\/p>\n

Au bout du compte, c’est donc un vin quelconque. Enorme au d\u00e9part (au tout d\u00e9but) et qui s’effondre au cours de la d\u00e9gustation. A moins d’\u00eatre fan des Shiraz trop m\u00fbres, \u00e7a n’a pas grand int\u00e9r\u00eat.<\/p>\n
